Son-Isha performing in Hawaii

                         

This little girl was born on the 25th of December 1997 at 23h55.

Son-Isha started singing in May 2004. Her new found talent won her a gold medal at the South African Championships for performing arts and a shot at the World Championships in Hollywood, America.

Son-Isha wowed the international audience in America and became the World Champion in her age category walking away with six medals.

So what would a seven year old World Champion do with her talent next? Well release an album of course! On the 20th of May 2006

Son-Isha launched her very first CD/DVD at a spectacular affair held at the performer theatre in Pretoria.

The event was hosted by Elviun Bruinders and the introducing artist was none other than Pieter Smith. The launch was recorded by Kyknet and aired on TV that following week.

Son-Isha’s album, entitled “you’re my star” features only original songs that were written especially for her. She sings in three different languages, English, Afrikaans and Zulu. It is a world first for someone so young to have a multi-lingual all original album out! The DVD was produced by Natasha Sutherland-Hofmeyr, Steve Hofmeyr’s wife. Son-Isha’s album is available in stores countywide.

Son-Isha loves South Africa, a special song was written for her to embrace this love called: “Child of Africa” which was recorded on her first album.

Son-Isha’s first live DVD will is in stores now, which is the product of Natasha Sutherland-Hofmeyr . This DVD was recorded live in front of

43 000 on looking fans at the Rittel festival in the Western Cape in October 2006. The music video of “De la Rey moet ‘n meisie kry” will also feature on this DVD.

On a personal note: Son-Isha does home-schooling guided by her tutor, Angelique , and is a very bright student. She is currently in grade six.

When Son-Isha is not enthralling audiences with her performance or recording world first albums she can be found riding quad bikes with her brother Adal-Son or spending time with her family whom she loves very dearly.

Son-Isha’s name means: Son from Sonya which means “Wisdom” and Isha from Alisha which means “To be noble”.
